Arcadia

As the city of Phoenix grew outward, the Arcadia community became established.

Welcome to Arcadia

Known for its lush and mature landscapes, the Arcadia neighborhood of Phoenix is famous for its historic homesites and rural atmosphere, and is one of the most desirable addresses in Phoenix. Built on former citrus groves, Arcadia is known for well-irrigated, mature landscaping. Several yards prominently feature orange, lemon and grapefruit trees as reminders of the area's past; the area used to be occupied by citrus farmers from 1919 to the mid-1950s. In the mid-1950s, the rest of Phoenix caught up with the farms and the area suburbanized with characteristic ranch homes on large lots. Today, many of the large lots on which these homes sit still feature mature landscaping that includes towering grapefruit, orange and lemon trees. For homebuyers seeking an established neighborhood with luxuriant landscaping and generous parcels of land, lush and lovely Arcadia is a very sought after hot spot.

Highly desirable custom homes from the early and mid-20th century as well as large citrus groves characterize the atmosphere of Arcadia. Families flock to the area for its good schools and abundance of activities for kids. Although Arcadia is located in part of a large metropolitan city, the community is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Downtown Phoenix. However, Arcadia is just a short drive away from the cityscapes of Phoenix if you consider yourself a true city-lover.

Arcadia is located with direct access to all of the amenities of Phoenix and Scottsdale, including Biltmore Fashion Park, Scottsdale Fashion Square, Old Town Scottsdale and more. For travelers, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is just a 15-minute drive from the heart of Arcadia. Arcadia also has wonderful biking paths along the Arizona Canal, bordering Arcadia to the south.
